Carla was educated at the University of the Nations in Kailua-Kona Hawaii. She graduated in May 2004 with a certificate of photography and returned to her home town, Orangeville Ontario. She is certified with CPI and PCA International as a Master Photographer with more than five years of studio photography. Carla worked for more than three years training other photographers in the art of portrait photography.
Carla works freelance for the local paper "Orangeville Banner", as well as a quarterly magazine "Sideroads of Dufferin County".

"My company's name "Crowns For Ashes" was inspired from the Bible. In context, God gives us Beauty for Ashes and Crowns for the rags we wear. In my photography, I want to inspire beauty from everything around me, and have my subjects feel like the valuable people that they are!"
